Our vanilla sugar is a blend of organic beet sugar and real organic bourbon vanilla from Madagascar. It is therefore dark and differs in this from light vanilla sugar, which is made with synthetic vanillin. The gourmet organic bourbon vanilla from Madagascar gives our sugar a rich, rounded and seductive aroma. It gives warm drinks (tea, coffee, chocolate) a beguiling note and can also be used well for sweet pastries, smoothies or muesli. Growing, harvesting and processing gourmet vanilla is complex and it takes many years of experience to produce high quality vanilla. The vanilla pods must be harvested at the right time and carefully ripened and fermented to protect their flavours. The cultivation of our beet sugar in southern Germany also strictly follows Demeter guidelines to produce a high quality sugar.
